Today we heard prepared speeches and we were blown away by the creativity of these guys.
They beautifully demonstrated many of the speech techniques they have learned in 8 weeks.
They showed great eye contact, confidence, gave personal stories, demonstrated the use of allusions, rule of three, and asked rhetorical questions.
With the few minutes we had left after the speeches, we reviewed the requirements for the Golden Microphone. They are well on their way to a chocolate feast!
Homework:
- Read pgs 26-29, 42
- Study one of the speeches on the requirements list, or use the one we printed off for you (Patrick Henry "Give Me Liberty") Identify the use of literary devices and persuasive techniques.
